Future freediving instructors collaborate with MedSeaPod for logger placement
In the beautiful scenery of the shores of St. Peter’s Island, a group of future freediving instructors made themselves available to the MedSeaPod project. Led by Giulio Caresio, they participated in a training session on the use of data logger sensors organized by the MedSeaPod team.

Innovative collaboration for Mediterranean temperature monitoring
Thanks to the valuable collaboration of the local company Carloforte Tonnare, data logger sensors were placed for the MedSeaPod project, focused on monitoring ultra-coastal water temperatures. This project, carried out in synergy between scientific institutions, businesses and citizens passionate about science, represents a virtuous model of citizen science. The data collected will help to better understand the thermal dynamics of the Mediterranean Sea, contributing to the protection of local marine ecosystems.

Successfully tested the Loggers in the Location “Behind the Ovens”
Data logger sensors from the MedSeaPod project were successfully tested at the “Dietro ai Forni” location in Carloforte. The devices provided accurate data on thermal changes in ultra-coastal waters, confirming field tests performed in the laboratory.

Testing and calibration of MedSeaPod sensors in Torregrande labs and at sea
The MedSeaPod project’s sensors were tested and calibrated in Torregrande laboratories and at sea to ensure their accuracy. In addition to the loggers intended for citizens, a multi-parameter probe was used to collect detailed environmental data. This crucial step ensures that the devices are ready for ultra-coastal water monitoring in the Mediterranean.

Meeting between MedSeaPod Project, Municipal Administration and Carloforte Harbour Master’s Office.
A key meeting for the MedSeaPod project was held on Dec. 15 at the Carloforte City Hall, with the participation of Mayor Stefano Rombi and the Coast Guard. The MedSeaPod team explained the details of the project, emphasizing the collaboration between scientific institutions, local businesses and citizens to monitor thermal changes in the Mediterranean’s ultra-coastal waters.
