2.1 Using the email service provided by MailChimp
We would like to inform you that we use the services of MailChimp to send our Newsletters.
MailChimp is a platform owned by Rocket Science Group, based in LLC, 675 Ponce del Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308 USA, that distributes email.
To enable MailChimp to disseminate our Newsletters more quickly and in a more personalized way, your email address and the additional data we ask you for, which are set out in this policy, are recorded on MailChimp’s servers in the USA. MailChimp uses this information for us in order to send the emails and make evaluations related to the Newsletter.
MailChimp states that it in turn uses this data to improve and refine its services, such as to technically refine its sending procedures or for commercial purposes to geographically locate the area from which email recipients come.
In any case, MailChimp will not use your information to contact you directly, nor will it send it to third parties.
We believe in the reliability of MailChimp, the security of its technological systems and the safety of its data. MailChimp is certified in accordance with the provisions of the agreement between the US and Europe, called “Privacy Shield” and has agreed to comply with the European legislation on the protection of personal data. MailChimp undertakes to protect our users’ data and to process it, on behalf of Stefano Boeri Architetti, in accordance with the provisions of MailChimp’s Privacy Policy and not to disclose said data to third parties.
You can review MailChimp’s policy at this link: https://mailchimp.com/legal/
The service offered by MailChimp, surveys and statistical analysis are performed based on our legitimate interest under Article 6 paragraph 1 letter f) of the GDPR, to create an easy and secure Newsletter system that meets our expectations and business goals. However, our legitimate interest has been weighed and balanced against the recipient’s fundamental rights.
Surveys and statistical analysis
Our emails contain a “web beacon,” such as a pixel file, that is retrieved by MailChimp’s server each time you open the email. This means that technical information, such as information about your browser, your system, your IP address, and the time of collection, is collected when you receive our email. This information is only used to improve Newsletter distribution services and can only be traced back to the specific Newsletter recipient if there is a technical need. The statistical survey allows us to know whether Newsletters were opened, when and what links were accessed.
This type of information helps us tailor the content of our Newsletters and send you emails that are always of interest to you.
Data access through online browsing and data management
In some cases, we link our users to MailChimp’s web pages, such as when users want to update their data or when they consult MailChimp’s Privacy Policy, which can only be consulted by accessing MailChimp’s site.
Please be aware that the MailChimp site uses Cookies and therefore MailChimp, its partners and suppliers (such as Google Analytics) process Personal Data of those who visit the site. We cannot intervene in this data collection. However, by consulting MailChimp’s Privacy Policy you can get more information about how your data is processed.
We also inform you that you have the option to deny consent to the processing of your data for behavioral advertising through the website http://www.aboutads.info/choices e http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ (for Europe).
Term and Revocation of Consent
You can revoke your consent to send our Newsletter or ask to be removed from our list at any time. This also means that you no longer consent to the sending through MailChimp of our Newsletters and to the statistical analysis performed as a result of sending the Newsletter. It is not possible to keep the withdrawal of consent given for sending the Newsletter separate from that for statistical surveys. You can find the link to turn off the Newsletter at the end of each email we send you.
If you do not agree with this further processing, you are free at any time to communicate your request to be removed from our lists by emailing info@medseapod.org
